hharrissWA 5a15b3224d Update 06.usfm
v. 14 "cannot criticize"
changed to
"will need to criticize"
"cannot criticize" makes Jesus sound like he has a critical spirit, whereas "will not need to criticize" puts the negativity of criticism on us for our sins, instead of on Jesus.

v. 2 "should teach" changed to "must teach"
There does not seem to be a reason from the Greek to soften "must ..." (as all these other adjectival descriptions read in both the ULB and the UDB) to "should." These descriptions are adjectives in the Greek, not verbs, so there is no subjunctive here, but only the Greek "dei," "it is necessary."

Matt 2:2 change wording from "been born in order that he might become the king of you Jews?" to what you see. There is too much circumlocution and an unnecessary purpose clause.

1 Cor 14:12 change wording instead of "through you" to what you see. The Corinthians were looking for the charismata for selfish reasons, not for building up the body. This is Paul's way of using their desire for the common good.
