# Sexual Immorality
Sexual immorality is used to talk about all sexual activity that God taught was wrong. Older English Bible versions call this "fornication." This includes sexual acts such as:
* Prostitution: a person being payed to have sex with someone, often as an act of worship to false gods (see: Deuteronomy 23:17-18; 1 Corinthians 6:15-20)
* Adultery: a married person having sex with someone that is not their husband or wife (see: Exodus 20:14; Matthew 19:18; Mark 7:21-23)
* Homosexuality: a person having sex with someone of the same gender (see: Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:24-27; see also: Genesis 19:1-29)
* Incest: a person having sex with a close family member such as a parent, child, or sibling (see: Leviticus 18:1-16)
* Bestiality: a person having sex with an animal (see: Leviticus 18:23)
“Sexual immorality” is sometimes used in the Bible as a metaphor to talk about the people of God worshipping false gods. When Gods people worshipped idols, the Bible talks about them as if they had committed adultery against God (see: Ezekiel 6:9) or as if they were prostitutes (see: Hosea 4:12).
