A psalm of David, to bring to remembrance

“This is a psalm that David wrote to remember what God had done in the past.”

Yahweh, do not rebuke me in your anger; do not punish me in your wrath.

(See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-parallelism)

For your arrows pierce me, -

** AT: "Yahweh has penetrated my life with punishment." (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-metaphor and rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-hyperbole)

and your hand presses me down.

AT: "Yahweh's power and authority pushes me down." (See: rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-synecdoche and rc://en/ta/man/translate/figs-hyperbole)
