\v 1 Yahweh, I give myself to you.

\v 2 My God, I trust in you.
\q1 Do not allow my enemies to defeat me
\q2 and shame me.
\q1 Do not allow my enemies to defeat me
\q2 and rejoice over me.

\v 3 Do not allow any of those who trust in you to be ashamed.
\q2 Cause those who act treacherously toward others to be disgraced.

\v 4 Yahweh, show me the way that I should conduct my life,
\q2 teach me how to act in the manner that you want me to act.
\q1
\v 5 Teach me to conduct my life by obeying your truth
\q2 because you are my God, the one who saves me.
\q2 All during the day I trust in you.

\v 6 Yahweh, do not forget how you have acted mercifully to me and have faithfully loved me because of your covenant with me;
\q2 that is the way that you have acted toward me from long ago.

\v 7 Forgive me for all the sinful things I did and the ways that I rebelled against you when I was young;
\q2 I request this because you faithfully love your people and do good things for them, as you promised in your covenant.
\q1 Yahweh, do not forget me!

\q2 so he shows sinners how they should conduct their lives.

\v 9 He shows humble people what is right for them to do
\q2 and teaches them what he wants them to do.

\v 10 He always faithfully loves us and does what he has promised
\q2 for those who obey his covenant and who do what he requires.

\v 11 Yahweh, forgive me for all my sins, which are many,
\q2 in order that I may honor you.

\v 12 To all those who have an awesome respect for you,
\q2 you show them the right way to conduct their lives.

\v 13 They will always be prosperous,
\q2 and their descendants will continue to live in this land.

\v 14 Yahweh is a friend of those who have an awesome respect for him,
\q2 and he teaches them the covenant that he made with them.

\v 15 I always request Yahweh to help me,
\q2 and he rescues me from danger.

\v 16 Yahweh, pay attention to me and be merciful to me because I am alone,
\q2 and I am greatly distressed because I am suffering.

\v 17 I have many troubles that make me afraid;
\q2 rescue me from them.

\v 18 Note that I am distressed and troubled,
\q2 and forgive me for all my sins.

\v 19 Note that I have many enemies;
\q2 you see that they hate me very much.

\v 20 Protect me and rescue me from them;
\q2 do not allow them to defeat me
\q2 with the result that I would be ashamed;
\q1 I have gone to you to get refuge.
