I had this information (worded differently) explaining each of the Examples of Translation Strategies Applied, but thought it may have been too cluttered. Maybe it's adequate without them. * Starting a sentence with someone's name when he has not been introduced yet might be confusing in some languages. * When pronouns occur in the first sentence of a chapter, readers might wonder whom they refer to. * In some languages after the author identifies the main person in a story, he will often refer to that person with simply a pronoun. |
