## but did preserve Noah ##

God saved righteous Noah from the flood.

## reduced the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes ##

God used fire to destroy the ungodly in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

## as an example of what is to come ##

Just as Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by fire, at the end of the age God will destroy all the ungodly people by the lake of fire.
