This tells why God rescued [Lot](rc://en/tw/dict/bible/names/lot). To "call to mind" is a way of saying "remember." This does not imply that God forgot about [Abraham](rc://en/tw/dict/bible/names/abraham). It means he considered [Abraham](rc://en/tw/dict/bible/names/abraham) and had mercy on him.
