+
+Jesus comparou Deus ao pão, e os ensinamentos dos fariseus e saduceus (sobre Deus) ao fermento, que faz a massa do pão crescer e o gosto depois de assado ficar bom. Ele não queria que seus seguidores ouvissem o que os fariseus e saduceus ensinavam porque, assim, não entenderiam quem, de fato, é Deus e como ele quer que seu povo viva. +
+The "traditions of the elders" were oral laws that the Jewish religious leaders developed because they wanted to make sure that everyone obeyed the law of Moses. However, they often worked harder to obey these rules than to obey the law of Moses itself. Jesus rebuked the religious leaders for this, and they became angry as a result.
